A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ON APRIL 1, 1969,
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING ALDERMEN FOR POSITIONS NO. 1,
NO. 2 AND NO. 3.
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building
on the 7th day of April, 1969, at which time a quorum was present,
came on to be considered the returns of the municipal election held
on the 1st day of April, 1969, for the purpose of electing Aldermen
for Positions No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3; and,
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was
found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and there were cast
at said election 3743 votes for the election of three Aldermen;
and that
FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 1:
Russell Jack Ballard received 272 votes
Don Wills received 3432 votes
Write-in votes 3
FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 2:
Harrison E. Taylor received 3469 votes
Write-in votes 14
FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 3:
Larry Lambert received 3465 votes
Write-in votes 17
AND, it appearing that Don Wills received the greatest number
of votes cast at said election for Aldermen, Position 1; that Harrison
E Taylor received the greatest number of votes cast at said election
for Aldermen, Position 2 ; and that Larry Lambert received the greatest
number of votes cast at said election for Aldermen, Position 3.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT Don Wills, Harrison E. Taylor and
Larry Lambert were duly and legally elected Aldermen of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, at said election, and that said election was in
all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of
Texas and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 7TH DAY OF APRIL, 1969.
