WHEREAS, the two Kiwanis Clubs of Wichita Falls have
submitted the name of John J. Roark for consideration for
selection as one of the top ten Public Works men of the year
by the American Public Works Association in connection with
National Public Works Week, which is jointly sponsored by
Kiwanis International; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Roark has served the City of Wichita Falls
as Director of Public Works with outstanding ability, and his
accomplishments have benefited all of the citizens of Wichita
Falls ; and,
WHEREAS, his fine intellect, his capacity for work, his
incomparable way of expressing himself, and his ingenuity in
applying new techniques fully qualify him as one of the out-
standing Public Works officials in the country; and,
WHEREAS, his nomination for selection is an honor both
for him and for the City of Wichita Falls ; and,
WHEREAS, although an endorsement by the Board of Aldermen
has not been solicited, it is the desire of the Board to recom-
mend his selection for this honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls is proud of John J. Roark, and
is grateful to him for his service to the City, and the Board
of Aldermen highly recommend the selection of John J. Roark as
one of the top ten Public Works men of the year.
