Res 769 2/12/1968RESOLUTION NO. _76 WHEREAS, after an extensive study, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls has determined that the ad valorem tax on personal automobiles is an inequitable tax, and it is impossible to collect this tax equally and uniformly from the owners of personal automobiles . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE. BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The City Manager is hereby directed to take the necessary steps to eliminate the assessment of ad valorem taxes on private personal automobiles for the year 1968 and future years. Auto- mobiles used as business vehicles will continue to be assessed for taxation, as these comprise an integral part of business personal property. However, the Tax Department and the City Attorney ' s Department shall continue to collect all outstanding ad valorem taxes assessed against private personal automobiles for the year 1967 and all prior years .
