Resolution Supporting Troops First, A Campaign Showing
Appreciation And Honor To The Men And Women Of Sheppard Air
Force Base.
WHEREAS, The Pride in the Falls campaign is charged with recognizing and
promoting the assets of this City that contribute to our greatness, that drive our
reputation for being progressive and that do indeed bring us tremendous pride; and,
WHEREAS, Sheppard Air Force Base is one of the most cherished assets in our
City, where our citizens hold members of the military in the highest esteem; recognizing
that those we see in uniform serve this nation with honor, passion and skill; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and citizens of Wichita Falls feel it is important that
everyone show their appreciation for members of the United States military by adhering
to and promoting the Troops First Initiative; and
WHEREAS, the Troops First Initiative will establish a wonderFul tradition for
expressing our deep appreciation for members of the military who live and work in
Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council urges all citizens to show their support of military
personnel at public events by offering them their place in line, a
heartfelt handshake and a thank you to our troops in uniform.
2. The City of Wichita Falls supports the Troops First Initiative and will
proudly display the Troops First decal at various municipal facilities.
