AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AM ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF
LEXINGTON AVENUE FROM COLQUITT ROAD WEST TO A POINT,
AND RUNNING EAST AND WEST BETWEEN LOT 8, BLOCK 22,
FAIRVIEW ADDITION, AND LOT 1., BLOCK 7, JOHN W. THOMAS
SUBDIVISION, AND RESERVING A UTILITY EASEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, deems it advisable and in the public interest to close that
portion of the street hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That portion of Lexington Avenue, being 133 feet
long, from Colquitt Road west to a point, and running east and west
between Lot 8, Block 22, Fairview Addition to the City of Wichita Falls,
and Lot 1, Block 7, John W. Thomas Subdivision of the City of Wichita
Falls, be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas, hereby reserves
an easement in said land for the purpose of laying and maintaining all
kind and character of utility lines, including wa.'ter, gas, and electric,
telephone and power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers, and drainage
ditches.
