Ord 2489 3/4/1969 ORDINANCE NO. A/11 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN ZONES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Paragraph (B) of Section 29-91 of the Traffic Ordinance of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita. Falls is hereby amended so that such paragraph shall read as follows: " (B) Southwest Parkway (FM 369) (1) 60 MPH From U.S. 82-277 to a point 0.9 of a mile north of U.S. 82-277. (2) 40 MPH From U.S. 82-277 to a point 0.3 of a mile south of U.S. 82-277. (3) 50 MPH From a point 0.3 of a mile south of U.S. 82-277 0.3 of a mile south to FM 2650. (4) 55 MPH From FM 2650 0.4 of a mile south to the city limits (Allendale Road) . (5) 50 MPH From west of the city limits (Barnett Road) east to a point 0.3 of a mile east of Barnett Road. (6) 45 MPH From 0.3 of a mile east of Barnett Road to a point 0.5 of a mile east of Barnett Road. (7) 40 MPH From 0.5 of a. mile east of Barnett Road to a. point 1.3 miles east of Barnett Road. (8) 45 MPH From 1.3 miles east of Barnett Road to a point 4.1 miles east of Barnett Road. (9) 40 MPH From 4.1 miles east of Barnett Road to State Highway 79, 4.8 miles east of Barnett Road. " SECTION 2. The fact that many people live within the City of Wichita Falls and that there is an urgent need for protection of its citizens and their property upon the City's roads and streets, this ordinance is declared an emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the orderly flow of traffic upon its roads and streets and a public need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of the property of the City.
