AN ORDINANCE REENACTING ORDINANCE NO. 2512
WHICH AMENDED SECTION 15-127 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES, DECREASING THE NUMBER OF
POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFICATION FIRE BATTALION
CHIEF FROM FOUR TO THREE, AND CREATING A NEW
CLASSIFICATION OF TRAINING OFFICER WITH ONE
POSITION.
Whereas, the wording of Ordinance No. 2512, which
was passed and approved on June 17 , 1969, contained an error,
and it is deemed advisable to reenact such ordinance;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 15-127 of the Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended so that it shall hereafter read as follows :
"The following positions in the fire department
are classified under civil service in compliance with Section
8 of Article 1269m of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas,
as amended, and they are hereby set out as follows :

No other person employed by the city may be classi-
fied as holding a position under civil service with the fire
department. "
SECTION 2 . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls
does not at the present time have a training officer in its
fire department, and in order for the fire department to
operate at top efficiency in the protection of the public and
property, creates an emergency, and it is therefore declared
that this ordinance is an emergency measure and shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
