AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15-127
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, DECREASING
THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSI-
FICATION FIRE BATTALION CHIEF FROM FOUR
TO THREE, AND CREATING A NEW CLASSIFICA-
TION OF TRAINING OFFICER WITH ONE POSITION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 15-127 of the Code of Ordinances
is hereby amended so that it shall hereafter read as follows:
"The following positions in the fire department
are classified under civil service in compliance with Section
8 of Article 1269m of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas,
as amended, and they are hereby set out as follows:

Training officer 1

No other person employed by the city may be classi-
fied as holding a position under civil service with the fire
department. "
SECTION 2 . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls
does not at the present time have a training officer in its
fire department, and in order for the fire department to
operate at top efficiency in the protection of the public and
property, creates an emergency, and it is therefore declared
that this ordinance is an emergency measure and shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
