Res 1174 4/12/1971RESOLUTION NO. //741 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, ON APRIL 6, 1971, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING ALDERMEN FOR POSITIONS NO. 1, NO. 2 AND NO. 3. WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial Auditorium Building on the 12th day of April, 1971, at which time a quorum was present, came on to be considered the returns of the municipal elec- tion held on the 6th day of April, 1971, for the purpose of electing Aldermen for Positions No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 ; and, WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and there were cast at said election 441DO votes for the election of three Aldermen; and that FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 1: Louis Esquibel received 9/9 votes John B. Carroll received 7/0 votes Harry Campsey received ,;?,; 7/ 49 votes Write-in votes 6 - FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 2 : Harrison E. Taylor received J15P 9 votes Earnest J. Humber, Sr. received z77 ,..z votes Write-in votes FOR ALDERMAN, POSITION 3: Larry Lambert received 37/0 votes Write-in votes AND, it appearing that Harry Campsey received the greatest number of votes at said election fbr Alderman, Position 1; that Harrison E. Taylor received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman, Position 2 ; and that Larry Lambert received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for Alderman, Position 3. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT Harry Campsey, Harrison E. Taylor and Larry Lambert were duly and legally elected Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, at said election, and that said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls.
