BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Minute Order No. 66778 passed by the Texas Highway
Commission on November 3, 1972, a copy of which is attached hereto,
and is made a part thereof, providing for assistance in channelizing
and signalizing the intersections of Kell Boulevard and Lawrence Road,
Kell Boulevard and Grant Street, and Fairway Boulevard and Midwestern
Parkway are acceptable to the City of Wichita Falls. It is hereby
ordered that the City of Wichita Falls cooperate with the Texas
Highway Department and fulfill its obligations so stipulated in said
Minute Order as being the responsibilities of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls desires the State Highway Department to
include the City's portion of the work in the State's construction
contract, and the City Manager of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby
authorized to enter into a fixed sum agreement with the State Highway
Department for such work and its cost as may be mutually agreed upon.

277 (Kell Boulevard) and Fairway Boulevard, the City of Wichita Falls has
requested assistance in Channeliaing and Signalising the Intersections at
Lawrence Road, Grant Street and Midwestern Parkway; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that such work is eligible for participa-
tion in the Federal TOPICS Program; and
EELS, it is the desire of the Texas Highway Department to assist the
City of Wichita Falls in such work:
NOW, TRiPORE, the State Highway Engineer ie directed to tender the fol-
lowing proposal to the City of Wichita Falls for the development of such
a project:
Provided the City will:
1. Provide for the adjust :::nt of utilities as may be required.
2. Maintain all of the work constructed as a part of the project
and agree to regulate traffic and prevent encroachment on the
right of way.

The Texas Highway Department will provide for Installation of Traffic
Signals, Signing, Delineation• and Channelization on Kell Boulevard at
the Intersections of Lawrence Road and Grant Street and on Fairway Boule-
vard at Midwestern Parkway, at an estimated cost of $81,000.
Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the appropriate officials
of the City of Wichita Falls, IT IS ORD2RED that Fairway Boulevard from Perm
to Market Road 369 to Kell Boulevard, a distance of approximately 1.2 miles,
be and is hereby designated as a LETROPOLITAN raG.WAY and the State Uighway
Engineer is directed to enter into agreement with the City coverin3 the
details of the proposed improvements, to proceed with the engineering develop-
ment of the project and after the City has fulfilled its responsibilities,
proceed with construction as authorized herein in the most feasible and eco- •
nomical manner, financing the coat in the Federal TOPICS Program.
This Order shall become operative upon acceptance by the City of Wichita Falls
and if not accepted within 90 days of the data hereof, the action herein con-
tained shall be automatically aancelled.
