WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a need to train
all its supervisory personnel in basic management skills; and,
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has available
Federal funds under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act for grants
to state and local governments to support programs and projects
designed to improve personnel administration or to train certain
employees; and,
WHEREAS, the staff of the City of Wichita Falls has
developed and recommended a training program, the estimated cost
of which will be $23, 500.00, of which $15,000.00 will be funded by
the Civil Service Commission under such Act; the balance will be
provided by the City by in-kind contributions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
Gerald G. Fox, City Manager, is hereby authorized and
directed to complete and file with the Civil Service Commission an
application for such grant in the name of the City of Wichita Falls;
the City Manager is further authorized to sign any necessary docu-
ments requested to carry out and complete such project on behalf of
the City; further, any and all documents heretofore signed on behalf
of the City of Wichita Falls by Gerald G. Fox, City Manager, are
hereby ratified and confirmed.
