RESOLUTION APPROVING EMPLOYMENT OF CORLETT-GRAY-
AND PROBST FOR SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
That certain contract between the City of Wichita Falls and
Corlett, Gray, and Probst, Consulting Engineers, whereby, the City
retains Corlett, Gray, and Probst for all engineering service required
in connection with the construction of a new sewer main to serve the
Lake Wichita Community, and which provides for compensation for the
basic services performed at 9.6% of the cost of construction, is
hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized to execute the
same for the City of Wichita Falls.

AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
THIS AGREEMENT made this the day of 1973, by
and between The Ci_ ty,Wichita ralls Texas hereinafter called the
OWNER, and Corlett. Gray and Probst hereinafter called the ENGINEER:

ENGINEER agrees to perform the various professional engineering
services required for the design and construction of the Sanitary
Sower Collection, System.
NOW, THEREFORE, THIS AGREEMENT WITNESSETH: That for and in considera-
tion of the mutual covenants and promises between the parties hereto,
it is hereby agreed that the ENGINEER shall furnish engineering ser-
vices to include the following:
1. He will conduct preliminary investigations, including
general studies of hydrology and geology to determine
the feasibility of the project.
2. He will prepare preliminary plans and an estimate of cost.
3. He will prepare an engineering prospectus.
4. He will furnish five copies of the preliminary engineering
prospectus, cost estimates and layout maps to the OWNER.
5. He will conduct the necessary design surveys, metes and
bounds surveys for legal description of deeded sites, not
including lakesites, complete the detailed design of the
project, prepare detailed plans, after tentative approval
of the prospectus has been issued by the OWNER.
6. He will prepare, as part of the contract documents. listed in
5 above, a construction contract, including advertisement
for bids, a general contracts, notice of award, and payment
and performance bonds.
7. He will provide the necessary copies of the detailed plans
and 'specifications and the construction contracts for use
of the OWNER, bidders and contractors.
8. He will assist the OWNER, when requested, in negotiating
for property, easements or rights-of-way required to con-
struct the facility; and he will assist the OWNER'S attorney
in procuring titles, rights and authorizations.

9. He will arrange for, attend and conduct the bid openings
and tabulate the bid proposals with recommendations and
summaries to the OWNER.
10. He will provide grade and alignment stakes for construction.
11. He will interpret the intent of the plans and specifications
to protect the OWNER against defects and deficiencies in con-
struction on the part of the contractors. He will not,
however, guaranteearantee the performance by any contractor.
12. He will provide general engineering supervision of the work
of the contractors as construction progresses. Detailed
construction inspection and supervision will not be fur-
nished.
13. He will prepare estimates for progress and final payments.
14. He will supervise adequate tests to confirm compliance with
system operating requirements and conformance with plans and
specifications and make a final inspection of all construction
and equipment and issue a certification of final inspection
to the OWNER.
15. He will provide the OWNER with one ( 1) set of reproducible
as-built" plans, and two (2) sets of prints, on paper, at
no cost to the OWNER.
16. He will notify appropriate persons of the date and time of
final inspection.
The OWNER agrees to pay the ENGINEER as compensation for his services
rendered the sum of nine anddyixtenths percent (.9.61 of construc-
tion costs. Percentages for compensation shall be based on construc-
tion costs payable as follows ;
1. Thirty percent (30%) of the total compensation upon approval
of the preliminary plans and estimates by the OWNER.
2. Thirty-five percent (35%) of the total compensation upon
completion and submission of the final plans, specifications,
cost estimates, and contract documents, and acceptance of
same by the OWNER and the various governmental agencies.
3. A sum which together with the specified sums set forth in
items 1 and 2 above equals eighty-five percent (85 ) of the
total compensation immediately after the construction con-
tracts are awarded.
