A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AUTHORI-
ZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR PLANNING
GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS TO ASSIST THE FI-
NANCING OF AN AIRPORT MASTER PLANNING
STUDY FOR WICHITA FALLS MUNICIPAL
AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is in need of a
master plan which will provide guidelines for future
development of the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport to ful-
fill aviation needs, meet community goals and be compatible
with the environment; and,
WHEREAS , the Board of Aldermen desire to submit an
application to the Federal Aviation Administration for a
planning grant for the airport master plan project; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen have expressed the
intention to utilize the services of the firm of Bovay
Engineers, Inc. to develop a master plan for the airport; and,
WHEREAS, the Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970
Public Law 91-258, Section 13) provides for grants of funds
to municipalities for airport master planning; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that an application
for a planning grant be filed to apply for funds from the
Federal Aviation Administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS that the City Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to submit an application to -the' Federal
Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, for an
airport master planning grant under the provisions of Public
Law 91-258 to assist the financing of a master plan for Wichita
Falls Municipal Airport in an amount not to exceed $57, 955. 00.
