RESOLUTION GIVING ASSURANCE OF COMPLI-
ANCE WITH TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS
ACT OF 1964.
WHEREAS, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
codified as 42 USCA Sections 2000d through 2000d-4) pro-
vides that no person in the United States shall, on the
ground of race, color or national origin, be excluded from
participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected
to discrimination under any program or activity receiving
federal financial assistance; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is presently par-
ticipating in several programs or activities receiving
federal financial assistance, and in the future will be
making applications to participate in other programs and
activities receiving federal financial assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER-
MEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls hereby gives assurance that
it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
with regard to any program or activity receiving federal
financial assistance.
