AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF TILE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE
OF TILE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM
SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN ZONES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Paragraph (T) of Section 29-91 of the Traffic
Ordinance of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby
amended so that such paragraph shall read as follows:
" (T) Iowa Park Highway (State Highway Loop 370)
(1) 30 MPH From Lincoln Street to the north
end of the F.W.&D. Railroad Overpass.
(2) 35 MPH From the north end of F.W.&D. Rail-
road Overpass to 4/10 mile west of
the Railroad Overpass (Old Iowa
Park Road) .
(3) 40 MPH From 4/10 mile west of the Railroad
Overpass (Old Iowa Park Road) to
Wolcott Lane.
(4) 45 MPH From Wolcott Lane to Wesley Drive.
(5) 55 MPH From Wesley Drive to Sunset Lane.
(6) 60 MPH From Sunset Lane to the west City
limits. "
SECTION 2. The fact that many people live within the City of
Wichita. Falls and that there is an urgent need for protection of its citizens
and their property upon the City's roads and streets, this ordinance is
declared an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need for the
orderly flow of traffic upon its roads and streets and a public need for
the preservation of the peace, health and safety of property of the City.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
