AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1674, PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS ON DECEMBER 21, 1953, AND ORDINANCE
NO. 1805, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF AL-
DERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS ON
JUNE 23, 1958 , PRESCRIBING RATES AND CHARGES FOR
LOCAL EXCHANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE FURNISHED BY
SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY IN THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has appeared
before the Board of Aldermen and has shown that the rates and
charges for local telephone service heretofore prescribed have
proved insufficient to afford said Company a reasonable return
on the value of its property devoted to furnishing local exchange
telephone service in the Wichita Falls telephone exchange..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER-
MEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS :
SECTION 1. That Ordinance Nos. 1674 and 1805 pre-
scribing rates and charges for local telephone service furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas be and is hereby amended by substituting therefore
the following .
SECTION 2 . Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall
place in effect the following schedule of rates effective on
January 1, 1970 .

(a) Includes one hundred (100) outgoing local mes-
sages, others 5 cents.
(b) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and

one-half times the rate for one party business flat
rate service,
(c) Minimum local message revenue guarantee equal to
one party business flat rate service
(d) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-
half times the rate for one party residence flat
rate service .
(e) Rates and charges for miscellaneous service and
equipment shall remain as heretofore established
provided; however, that Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company shall have the right to file from time to
time with the City Clerk different rates and charges
for such miscellaneous services and equipment, such
different rates and charges to become effective
thirty (30) days after filing unless otherwise
ordered by the Board of Aldermen.
SECTION 3. All ordinances heretofore passed by the
Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls establishing rates
and charges for telephone service (except the Ordinance No. 1899
dated March 28, 1960 establishing a base rate area) are hereby
repealed effective with the establishment of the rates authorized
in Section 2 above.
SECTION 4. Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be
construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner
the right and power of the City under the law to regulate the rates
and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
