AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING ALL PUBLIC RIGHTS AND INTERESTS
IN A STRIP OF LAND EIGHT FEET (8') WIDE ADJOINING THE
WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF LOT 11 OF DR. E. B. BAILEY SUB-
DIVISION IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, on July 14, 1919, a plat of Dr. E. B. Bailey Subdivision
of four (4) acres being Blocks 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the Dr. R. L. Miller
Subdivision was filed for record with the County Clerk of Wichita County,
and was recorded in Volume 2, Page 155 of the Plat Records of Wichita
County, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, on said plat there was shown a strip of land eight
feet (8') wide and one hundred forty feet (140') long adjoining the west
boundary line of Lot 11, which was not designated on said plat as an alley
or a lot, nor was it given any other designation; and,
WHEREAS, this strip of land serves no public purpose, and the
City has been requested to abandon and relinquish all public rights, if
any, in said strip; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls
deems it advisable and in the public interest to abandon and relinquish all
public rights in said strip.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. All public rights, if any, in the following strip
of land be and the same are hereby abandoned and relinquished, to-wit:
Being a part of the Dr. E. B. Bailey Subdivision,
according to the plat of record in the Office of the
Count; Clerk of Wichita County, Texas, described
as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 11 in
said subdivision; thence north along the west
boundary line of said Lot 11 one hundred forty
feet (140') to the northwest corner of said Lot
11; thence west eight feet (8') to -the northwest
corner of said subdivision; thence south along the
west line of said subdivision one hundred forty
feet (140' ) to a point in the north line of Blonde
Street; thence east eight feet (8') along the north
line of Blonde Street to the place of beginning.
