ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 31-31 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF WICHITA FALLS, EXEMPTING FROM CITY
REGULATION THE OPERATION OF CERTAIN TAXICABS ON
SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE AND CAPEHART HOUSING PROP-
ERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 31-31 of the Code of Ordinances of
Wichita Falls is hereby amended by adding to the end of said sec-
tion the following sentence:
"This article shall not apply to the operation of
taxicabs which are awned and operated by the fed-
eral government or one of its instrumentalities on
Sheppard Air Force Base, and which pick up and de-
liver passengers only on Sheppard Air Force Base
and Capehart Housing property."
SECTION 2 . The fact that there is an immediate need for
this service by personnel at Sheppard Air Force Base creates an
emergency, and this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure,
and it shall become effective immediately upon the passage thereof.
