AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF NORMANDY
DRIVE EXTENDING EAST FROM BRISTOL LANE TO THE EAST BOUNDARY OF THE
HIGHLAND PARK ESTATES ADDITION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close a portion of Normandy
Drive hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Normandy Drive extending east from
Bristol Lane to the east boundary of Highland Park Estates Addition which
is described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the intersection of
Bristol Lane and Normandy Drive; thence easterly along the
south right of way line of Normandy Drive 80.45' along a
curve whose radius is 132' to the east boundary line of the
Highland Park Estates Addition, Section One; thence N 10 06'
W along the east boundary line of the said Highland Estates
Addition, Section One, 60.3' to the northeast corner of
said addition; thence westerly along the north right of way
line of Normandy Drive 77.0' along a curve whose radius is
82' ; thence S 8° 00 W 50' more or less to the place of
beginning;
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The fact that the construction of an apartment
complex is being delayed pending the taking effect of this ordinance
creates an urgent public necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed
as an emergency measure, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency
measure and shall be in force and effect immediately from and after its
passage.
