AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
TO CREATE SEPARATE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND
TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Paragraph (a) of Section 2-3 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended so that
it shall read as follows:
" (a) The following administrative departments are
hereby created and shall be responsible to the City
Manager unless otherwise provided herein, or by the
Charter:
City Manager
Legal & City Clerk
Finance
Public Works
Public Health
Public Utilities
Parks & Recreation
Public Safety
Water Development
Planning
Traffic
General Services
General Administration"
SECTION 2 . Division 10 of Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordi-
nances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended so that it
shall read as follows :
"DIVISION 10. PLANNING
Sec. 2-89. Department created; director.
There is hereby created a Department of Plan-
ning, which shall be under the supervision of the
Director of Planning. Such Director shall be ap-
pointed by the City Manager, and shall be directed
by and responsible to such City Manager.
Sec. 2-90. Duties generally.
The Director of Planning shall be charged
with the supervision of the Department of Planning.
He shall be in charge of industrial relations mat-
ters for the City, and shall be the City representa-
tive and ambassador to all present and prospective
industries . "
SECTION 3. Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended by adding Division 13,
which shall read as follows:

"DIVISION 13. TRAFFIC
Sec. 2-97. Department created; director.
There is hereby created a Department of Traf-
fic, which shall be under the supervision of the
Director of Traffic. Such Director shall be ap-
pointed by the City Manager, and shall be directed
by and responsible to such City Manager.
Sec. 2-98. Duties generally.
The Director of Traffic shall be charged with
the supervision of the Department of Traffic. He
shall have supervision of the traffic engineering,
parking meters and street lighting departments. "
