RESOLUTION NO. 1772
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDS
FOR POLICE TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT, AND AUTHORIZING
ADVERTISING FOR BIDS.
WHEREAS, the Police Department has a need for certain techni-
cal equipment, the same being technical communications equipment and
technical photographic equipment; and,
WHEREAS, federal funds are available through Nortex Regional
Planning Commission for such equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice Division has requested
that the bidding process be completed for all equipment before
actual submission of grant applications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1, The City Manager is hereby authorized to make
application for such federal funds to be used to acquire the
following police technical equipment:
a. Technical communications equipment, which will involve
the installation of a new card switch status panel, a status map
and a tape recording system; cost of this equipment is estimated
at $31, 560 . 00 which will be one hundred percent federally funded.
b. Technical photographic equipment, which will involve the
installation of a color print processor; the cost of this equipment
is estimated at $4, 000. 00, which will be one hundred percent
federally funded.
SECTION 2. Permission is granted to advertise for bids for
this equipment; the award of such bids will be subject to the
obtaining of the federal grant.
