AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE TRAFFIC ORDINANCE
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS IN CERTAIN ZONES, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 29-91 of the Traffic Ordinance of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended by adding
paragraph (AH) which shall read as follows:
"(AH) Airport Drive (F.M. 890)
(1) 50 MPH From west frontage road of
U.S. 277-281 Expressway east
.606 miles to west frontage road
of Spur 325.
(2) 40 MPH From west frontage road of Spur 325
east .203 miles to Sheppard Access Road.
(3) 50 MPH From Sheppard Access Road east
.479 miles to Burkburnett Road
(State Highway 240) ."
SECTION 2. The fact that many people live within the City of
Wichita Falls and that there is an urgent need for protection of its citizens
and their property upon the City's roads and streets, this ordinance is
declared an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need for the
orderly flow of traffic upon its roads and streets and a public need for the
preservation of the peace, health, and safety of property of the City. This
ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
