A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR A CONTIN-
UATION GRANT FOR THE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PRO-
GRAM (STEP) FROM THE TEXAS, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY,
STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls wishes to continue the
Selective Traffic Enforcement Program to improve the public safety
of the citizens of Wichita Falls ; and,
WHEREAS, the financing of this project is a burden upon the
City of Wichita Falls and financial assistance is being requested
from the Texas, Office of Traffic Safety, State Department of High-
ways and Public Transportation in the amount of $149,099. 00 for the
contract period of October 1, 1977 , through September 30, 1978.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Gerald G. Fox, City Manager, is hereby authorized to execute
continuation contracts for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Pro-
gram for the contract period of October 1, 1977, through September
30, 1978 , and to make application for any future continuation con-
tracts under the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.
