AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE DATE OF THE FIRST
REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN IN
OCTOBER, 1971, TO OCTOBER 7, 1971.
WHEREAS, Section 2-1 of the Code of Ordinances provides
(with one exception) that the regular meeting times of the Board of
Aldermen shall be the first Tuesday and third Tuesday of each month,
at 10:00 o' clock A.M. in the Council Chamber in the Municipal Audi-
torium; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desire to change the date
of the first regular meeting in October, 1971 from October 5th to
October 7th, at which meeting they shall consider the proposed
budget and the proposed appropriations ordinance for the fiscal year
1971-1972 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2-1 of the Code
of Ordinances, the first regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen in
the month of October, 1971 shall be held on October 7, 1971 at 10:00
o' clock A.M. in the Council Chamber in the Municipal Auditorium.
Except as changed herein, the provisions of Section 2-1 of the Code
of Ordinances shall remain in full force and effect.
The fact that the budget for the fiscal year beginning
October 1, 1971 needs to be adopted on the date set forth for such
meeting, creates an emergency, and this ordinance is declared an
emergency measure and shall become effective upon its passage.
