. AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF
• THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT •ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
•
SECTION 1. That the following tracts of land located in Wichita County,
Texas, be and the same are hereby ordered to be annexed and to be included
within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the
corporate limits be extended so as to include said tracts of land in Wichita
County, Texas, the same being more particularly described as follows:
Tract I
BEGINNING at a point in the west right-of-way line of City View Drive,
said point bears south 00° 08' east 2270 feet and south 89° 52' west 30 feet
from the northeast corner of the G.W. Scott Survey, A.254;
THENCE south 89° 52' west 500 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE north 000 08' west 221.02 feet to a point for corner; •
THENCE north 79° 49' west 2062.27 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE south 00° 01' east to a point which is 200 feet south of the south
right-of-way line of U.S. 287 Expressway;
THENCE easterly parallel to and 200 feet south of the south right-of-way
line of the U.S. 287 Expressway to a point in the present city limits line,
said point being 200 feet west of the west right-of-way line of City View Drive;
. THENCE northerly along the present city limits line, parallel to and 200
feet west of the west right-of-way line of City View Drive to an ell corner
in the present city limits line, said point being 200 feet north of the north
. . right-of-way line of U.S. 267 Expressway;
THENCE easterly along the present city limits line, parallel to and
200 feet north of the north right-of-way line of the U.S. 287 Expressway a
distance of 200 feet to the west right-of-way line of City View Drive;
THENCE northerly along the west right-of-way ling of City View Drive a
distance of 1010 feet more or less to the place of beginning and containing
119.6 acres more or less.
Tract II
A tract of land out of the H & GN Survey, Section 29, A-161 Wichita County,
Texas, and being more specifically described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the east line of said Section 39, said point being
2644.7 feet north of the southeast corner of said Section 39;
THENCE north 89° 46' west to a point in the east right-of-way line of the
MK & T Railroad;
THENCE southerly along the east right-of-wayifine of the MK & I Railroad
to the north right-of-way line of Reilly Road; !:
THENCE easterly along the north right-of-way line to its intersection with
the present city limits line as described in Ordinance Number 2598;
THENCE northerly along the present city limits line parallel to and 200 feet
west of the west right-of-way line of Central Freeway a distance of 200 feet to
an ell corner in the present city limits line;
THENCE easterly along the present city limits line parallel to and 200
feet north of the north right-of-way line of Missile Road to a point for
corner in the east line of said Section 39;
. THENCE north along the east line of said Section 39 a distance of 1510
feet. more or leas to the place of beginning and containing 190.2 acres of land
. more or less.

Containing 37.00 acres more or less.
SECTION 1. In conformity with Section 6 of Article 970a of the Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, before these annexation proceedings were instituted,
the Board of Aldermen called a public hearing on August 3, 1971, to provide
an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard; notice of such hearing
was published once in the Wichita Falls Record News not more than twenty (20)
days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing. Such public
hearing was held on September 7, 1971 , which was not more than twenty days
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of these annexation
proceedings.
SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended Charter of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the 21st day of September, 1971
introduced and the City Clerk is directed to publish said ordinance one (1)
time in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted
upon.
This ordinance having been introduced on the 21st day of September,
1971 and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, to wit, the Wichita Falls Record News, one (1)
time, on the 25th day of September, 1971 and seven (7) days after such publication
having elapsed, this ordinance is finally passed and approved this the 7th day
of October, 1971.
