AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE 1631,
AS AMENDED, INCREASING THE RATE OF FARE TO BE CHARGED
FOR ONE PERSON AND INCREASING THE RATE FOR WAITING
TIME, TO BE CHARGED BY TAXICABS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section IV of Ordinance 1631, as amended,
be and it is hereby amended so that it shall hereafter read as
follows:
"SECTION IV; RATES. Beginning the /7 I,L. day of
1972, the following schedule of rates and fares
shall bec-:me effective and shall supersede the schedule of rates
and fares heretofore provided for, and the use of the taxi meter
in each taxicab operating in the City of Wichita Falls is hereby
made mandatory, and such rates or fares are as follows:
(1) The rate of fare for one person shall be fifty-five
($0.55) cents for the first one-fourth mile or fraction thereof
traveled by him, and ten ($0. 10) cents for each additional one-fourth
mile or fraction thereof traveled by him; and for each additional
passenger transported on the same trip, the charge shall be ten
($0. 10) cents, provided all passengers are in the same party.
(2) For each one minute of waiting time during each trip,
the rate shall be ten ($0. 10) cents.
(3) Trunks: Twenty-five ($0.25) cents for each trunk
carried.
(4) Handbaggage shall be carried at no charge to the
passenger."
