AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1444,
REDUCING THE STREET RENTAL CHARGE OF TWO PER-
CENT TO ONE PERCENT OF THE GROSS RECEIPTS PER
ANNUM FOR TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS BY TAXICAB
WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1444 of the City of Wichita Falls
levied against every person, trustee, firm, association and corpora-
tion engaged in the taxicab business a rental charge of 2% of the
gross receipts measured by the total fares collected and other income
derived from the operation of taxicabs, such charge being made for
the use of the streets, alleys and public ways of said city by such
persons, trustees, firms, associations and corporations engaged in
the taxicab business; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
City of Wichita Falls to reduce such rental charge from 2% to 1%.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Ordinance No. 1444 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom
the words "Two (2%) percent" everywhere it appears, and substituting
in lieu thereof the words "One (1%) percent" .
