Ord 2706 4/18/1972 ORDINANCE NO. At
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A ONE (1) BLOCK LONG ALLEY
IN BLOCK 121 OF WESTMORELAND PARK AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close and abandon that one
(1) block long alley in "lock 121 of Westmoreland Park and adjacent properties
of the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, and that the closing
of said alley would not affect the rights of the general public in any manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The one (1) block long, fifteen (15) foot wide alley
running southwest from the southwest property line of Concord Road to the
north property line of Johnson Road, lying between Lots 1 through and
including Lot 5 of Block 121 of Westmoreland Park and adjacent properties of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas be and the same is hereby closed and
abandoned.
SECTION 2. The fact that the construction of an apartment complex
is being delayed pending the taking effect of this ordinance creates an
urgent public necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed as an
emergency measure, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure
and shall be in force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
