RESOLUTION APPROVING LAND LICENSE AGREEMENT
TO THE UNITED STATES ON RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY
FOR RAILROAD SPUR TO SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE.
WHEREAS, about the year 1941 the City of Wichita Falls
acquired a strip of land containing 5. 88 acres, more or less,
for a spur railroad right-of-way to Sheppard Air Force Base;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls executed with the
United States of America a certain license agreement dated
December 31, 1952 , authorizing the Government to make non-
exclusive use and occupancy of such land for the purpose of
a railroad spur track right-of-way for providing rail service
to Sheppard Air Force Base for a term of twenty-five years,
beginning December 31, 1952 and ending December 31, 1977,
and renewable upon the same terms and conditions for like
periods thereafter at the option of the Government; and,
WHEREAS , the United States desires to renew this license
agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The renewal of that certain land license agreement dated
December 31, 1952 , between the City and the United States,
covering such railroad spur track right-of-way, is hereby
approved for a term of twenty-five years, beginning December 31,
1977 , through and ending December 31, 2002; the City Manager
is hereby authorized to execute the necessary instrument to
effect this renewal.
