AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF SHEPHERD
STREET EXTENDING EAST FROM THE SOUTHERLY EXTENDED WEST LINE OF
BLOCK 96-A HIGHLAND ADDITION AND EXTENDING SOUTH FROM THE SOUTH
LINE OF SAID BLOCK 96-A TO THE SOUTH LINE OF LOT 14, BLOCK 2, W. E.
WILSON ADDITION.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it adviseable and in the public interest to close a portion of Shepherd
Street hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Shepherd Street extending east from the
southerly extended west line of Block 96-A Highland Addition and extending
south from the south line of said Block 96-A to the south line of Lot 14, Block 2
of the W. E. Wilson Addition be and the same is closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The fact that the relocation of an existing house which
must be moved in connection with the Kell Boulevard construction project is being
delayed pending the taking effect of this ordinance, creates an urgent public
necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed as an emergency measure, and
this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure and shall be in force and
effect immediately from and after its passage.
