AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS WHICH ESTAB-
LISHES THE SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN STREETS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sub-section (B) Southwest Parkway (FM-369) of Section
29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by amending
paragraphs (5) through (9) so that they shall hereafter read as
follows :
" (5) 60 MPH From the west city limits (200 feet west of
Gregg Road) to Barnett Road.
(6) 50 MPH From Barnett Road to Lindale Drive.
(7) 45 MPH From Lindale Drive to Elmwood Avenue.
(8) 50 MPH From Elmwood Avenue to Diane Street.
(9) 55 MPH From Diane Street to South Freeway ( U.S. 281
Expressway) . "
SECTION 2 . Sub-section (F) State Highway 79 of Section 29-91 of
the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by changing the heading
to read "Archer City Highway ( SH 79) " , and is further amended
by adding paragraphs (3) through paragraph (5) which shall read
as follows :
" (3) 70 MPH From the south city limits to Professional
Drive.
(4) 55 MPH From Professional Drive to a point 1156 feet
northeast of Professional Drive.
(5) 40 MPH From a point 1156 feet northeast of Professional
Drive to Old Jacksboro Highway (Bus. 281-79; Loop
473) " .
SECTION 3. Sub-section (G) State Highway Loop 165 of Section 29-91
of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended so that it shall here-
after read as follows:
" (G) Eastside Drive (SH 240)
(1) 45 MPH From U. S. 287 (East Scott) to a point
1 3/10 miles north of U. S. 287 (East
Scott) .
(2) 40 MPH From 1 3/10 miles north of U. S. 287
(East Scott) to a point 2 miles north of
East Scott.
(3) 35 MPH From a point (Park Street) 2 miles north
of East Scott to the Wichita River:'
SECTION 4. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amend-
ed by adding a new sub-section (G. 1) , which shall read as follows:
" (Gi) Eastside Drive North (SH 240) .
(1) 35 MPH From the Wichita River to a point (Old
Burk Road) 3 6/10 miles north of East
Scott. "
SECTION 5. Sub-section (H) U. S. 277-281 (Burkburnett Highway) of
Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended so that it shall hereafter read as follows:
" (H) Burkburnett Highway (SH 240) ."
(1) 40 MPH From a point (Old Burk Road) 3 6/10 miles
north of East Scott to a point 4 1/10 miles
north of East Scott.
(2) 50 MPH From a point 4 1/10 miles north of East
Scott to a point 5 2/10 miles north of
East Scott.
(3) 45 MPH From a point 5 2/10 miles north of East
Scott to a point (Spur 325) 6 miles north
of East Scott.
(4) 45 MPH From Spur 325 to a point 1172 feet north of
Missile Road.
(5) 55 MPH From a point 1172 feet north of Missile Road
to the north city limits line."
SECTION 6. Sub-section (Y) of Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordi-
nances is hereby amended so that it shall hereafter read as
follows :
" (Y) Jefferson Street (FM 171) .
(1) 45 MPH From the east city limits to Eastside Drive
(SH 240) . "
SECTION 7. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amend-
ed by adding a new sub-section (AI) which shall read as follows:
" (AI) South Freeway (U.S. 281 Expressway) .
(1) 70 MPH From the south city limits to 38th Street
(Midwestern Parkway) .
(2) 65 MPH From 38th Street (Midwestern Parkway) to a
point 1753 feet north of 38th Street.
(3) 60 MPH From a point 1753 feet north of 38th Street
to Old Jacksboro Highway (Bus. 281-79; Loop
473) . "
SECTION 8. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amend-
ed by adding a new sub-section (AJ) which shall read as follows:
" (AJ) Sisk Road (FM 2650) .
(1) 45 MPH From the south city limits to Southwest
Parkway (FM 369) ."
SECTION 9. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amend-
ed by adding a new sub-section (AK) which shall read as follows:
" (AK) Service Road-Central Freeway East (U. S. 82-287) .
Westbound Traffic:
(1) 50 MPH From Fisher Road to a point 2703' west of
Fisher Road.
(2) 40 MPH From a point 2703' west of Fisher Road to
Hammon Road.
(3) (Reserved)
(4) (Reserved)
(5) 45 MPH From Old Windthorst Road to Old Jacksboro
Highway (Loop 473;Bus.281-79) .
Eastbound Traffic:
(1) 45 MPH From Old Jacksboro Highway (Loop 473;Bus.
281-79) to 38th Street (Midwestern Parkway) .
[Note: This is the service road link between
Central Freeway East and South Freeway. ]
(2) 50 MPH From Old Windthorst Road to the east city
limits."
SECTION 10. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby
amended by adding a new sub-section (AL) which shall read as
follows:
" (AL) Service Road-South Freeway (U. S. 281) .
Southbound Traffic:
(1) 50 MPH From 38th Street (Midwestern Parkway) to
Old Jacksboro Highway (Loop 473;Bus.281-
79) .
(2) 40 MPH From Old Jacksboro Highway (Loop 473) to
Rathgeber Road.
Northbound Traffic:
(1) 50 MPH From Rathgeber Road to Old Windthorst Road.
