AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE DATES OF THE REGULAR
MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN IN OCTOBER,
1972
WHEREAS, Section 2-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Wichita Falls provides (with one exception) that the regular
meeting times of the Board of Aldermen shall be the first Tuesday
and third Tuesday of each month, at 10: 00 o' clock a .m. in the
Council Chamber in the Municipal Auditorium; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desire to change the date of
the first regular meeting in October, 1972 from October 3rd to
October 9th, at which meeting they shall consider the proposed
budget and the proposed appropriations ordinance for the fiscal
year 1972-1973, and they also desire to change the date of the
second regular meeting in October from October 17th to October
23rd.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2-1 of the Code
of Ordinances, the first regular meeting of the Bca rd of Aldermen
in the month of October, 1972 shall be held on October 9, 1972
at 10:00 o' clock a. m. , and the second regular meeting of the
Board of Aldermen in the month of October shall be held on October
23, 1972 at 10:00 o' clock a.m. , in the Council Chamber in the
Municipal Auditorium.
The fact that the budget for the fiscal year beginning October
1, 1972 needs to be adopted on the date set forth for such first
meeting in October, creates an emergency, and this ordinance is
declared an emergency measure and shall become effective upon its
passage.
