ORDINANCE FINDING CERTAIN BUILDINGS
AND/OR STRUCTURES TO BE DANGEROUS
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Building Inspector of the City of Wichita Falls,
acting under tt* provisions of Ordinance No. 2388, notified in
writing by certified mail the following list of property owners
of the property shown, that the building or buildings on the
premises had been classified as a dangerous building and that
certain corrections were needed to be made or the building
demolished:

WHEREAS, such property owners did not comply with the directive
of the building inspector within the sixty days alloted in Ordinance
No. 2388; and,
WHEREAS, such property owners were notified by certified
mail by the building inspector of the time and date of a public
hearing for such property owners to appear before the Board of
Aldermen to show cause why such building or structure should
not be repaired, vacated or demolished in accordance with the
Statement of Particulars set forth in the building inspector ' s
notice; and said public hearing was had and held at the time
and place fixed therefor, to-wit, on the 18th day of July, 1972
at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers in the city of Wichita Falls,
Texas, and at such public hearing, Burl Kirkland appeared and
protested that 1724 Harding through 1736 Harding were outside
the city limits. Said hearing was continued until all desiring
to be heard were given full and fair opportunity to be heard,
and the Board of Aldermen then closed such public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, from the evidence presented in the public hearing
by the property owners and the building inspector, any and all
protests and objections were overruled, and the Board of Alder-
men found that the building and/or structure at each location
listed above with the corresponding property owner was a danger-
ous building as defined in Ordinance No. 2388, and commanded
the property owners listed or any other person having an interest
in said building as shown by the tax records of the City to
repair, vacate or demolish the building in accordance with the
Statement of Particulars set forth in the building inspector ' s
notice; each owner was notified by the building inspector of
this order and command by the Board of Aldermen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
Each building and/or structure at the location listed above
with the corresponding property owner was found to be a dangerous
building, and was ordered to be repaired, vacated or demolished,

which order was communicated by the building inspector to each
property owner listed above, all in full compliance with Ordi-
nance No. 2388; in the event any such owner failed to comply
with such order within 30 days, the city attorney shall file
an appropriate action for injunction to compel said owner to
abide by such order.
The fact that the repair, vacation, and/or demolition of
dangerous buildings will be delayed pending the taking effect
of this ordinance creates an emergency for the immediate pres-
ervation of the public property, health, safety and general
welfare, this ordinance shall become effective from and after
the date of its passage.
