ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32-57 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ESTABLISHING
CHARGES FOR SANITARY SEWER SERVICE,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 32-57 of the Code of Ordinances is
hereby amended so that it shall read as follows:
"Section 32-57 . Rates - for sewer service.
(a) The charge for sanitary sewer service shall be
determined by the water consumption. For all users except
residential users, the monthly sewer charge shall be based
on the monthly water usage billed in the same month. For all
residential users, the monthly sewer charge for sewer service
in the months of January, February and March of each year
shall be based on the monthly water usage billed in the same
month; for the subsequent nine months of each calendar year,
the monthly sewer charge will be the average monthly sewer
charge computed for usage billed in January, February and
March of the same year.
(b) The minimum monthly sewer charge for any user shall
be $1.75, which shall be charged any user whose water consump-
tion for the month does not exceed 200 cubic feet.
For larger consumption, the monthly sewer rate shall be
as follows:
The next 8 hundred cubic 29 per hundred cubic feet
feet of water
The next 658 hundred cubic 16 per hundred cubic feet
feet of water
All over 668 hundred cubic 5 per hundred cubic feet
feet of water
(c) The minimum monthly charge for sanitary sewer service
shall depend on the size of the user ' s water meter. The mini-
mum monthly charge for general service users (those with water
meters smaller than 1 inch) shall be $1. 75. The minimum monthly
charge for users with 1 inch, or larger, water meters shall be
as follows:

1 1/2 inch meter - $7 . 35 10 inch meter - $175. 00
2 inch meter - $10.85 12 inch meter - $201. 25
3 inch meter - $26 . 25 16 inch meter - $271. 25
4 inch meter - $43 .75 20 inch meter - $323 .75
6 inch meter - $87 .50 24 inch meter - $350. 00
(d) The above schedule of rates for sewer charges and
minimum monthly charges shall apply to users located within
the city limits; the rate for all sanitary sewer services
provided outside the city limits shall be twice the rate
above prescribed, and the minimum monthly charge for users
outside the city limits shall be twice the monthly minimum
charges provided above. "
SECTION 2 . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls is
about to commence the construction of an expansion of its
waste water treatment plant makes this ordinance an emergency
measure on the ground of urgent public need for the preserva-
tion of the health and safety of the residents of the city,
and therefore this ordinance shall become effective on July
1, 1973.
