AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF ADAMS STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY
SOUTH OF FRONT STREET AND WEST OF LOT 21 , BLOCK 87 OF THE
WICHITA FALLS ORIGINAL TOWNSITE.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
deems it advisable and in the public interest to close a portion of the Adams
Street right-of-way herein described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Adams Street which is described as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 21, Block 87 of the
Wichita Falls Original Townsite;
Thence west along the extended south property line of the said
Lot 21 a distance of 32.8 feet to a point which is 11.0 feet from
the face of the existing curb of Eastside Drive measured at
right angles thereto;
Thence northwesterly parallel to and 11.5 feet east of the face
of the curb of Eastside Drive a distance of 156.5 feet to a point
in the extended north property line of the said Lot 21;
Thence east 78.3 feet to the northwest corner of the said Lot 21;
Thence south along the west property line of said Lot 21 a distance
of 150 feet to the place of beginning.
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls , Texas hereby reserves an
easement on said land for the purpose of laying, maintaining, removing and
replacing all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas,
electric, telephone and power lines, sanitary and storm sewers and drainage
ditches; no structures shall be built on such easement. If pavement is
provided for parking purposes by the owner, then it shall be the owner's
responsibility to replace at his own expense any portion of the pavement which
may have to be removed in order to make repairs on any of the existing utilities.
