Ord 2821 9/18/1973 ORDINANCE NO. „.74V;L7/ ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (a) AND (c) , REPEALING SUBSECTION (d) , OF SECTION 32-57 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO CHANGE THE METHOD OF COMPUTING RESIDENTIAL SEWER CHARGES AND TO REDUCE CERTAIN MINIMUM SEWER CHARGES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of Section 32-57 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: " (a) The charge for sanitary sewer service shall be de- termined by the water consumption. For all users except residential users, the monthly sewer charge shall be based on the monthly water usage billed in the same month. For each residential user, the monthly sewer charge for each month from April through the following March shall be the same, and shall be based on the average monthly water usage metered in the preceding months of January, February and March. " SECTION 2. Subsection (c) of Section 32-57 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows: " (c) The above schedule of rates for sewer charges and the minimum monthly charge of $1. 75 shall apply to users loca- ted within the city limits; the rate for all sanitary sewer services provided outside the city limits shall be twice the rate above prescribed, and the minimum monthly charge for users outside the city limits shall be $3. 50. " SECTION 3. Subsection (d) of Section 32-57 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby repealed. SECTION 4 . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls has commenced the construction of an expansion of its waste water treatment plant makes this ordinance an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need for the preservation of the health and safety of the residents of the city, and therefore P this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
