ORDINANCE CHANGING THE DATE OF THE
FIRST REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD
OF ALDERMEN IN OCTOBER, 1973 , AND
CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
ADOPTION OF 1973-1974 BUDGET.
WHEREAS, Section 2-1 of the Code of Ordinances provides
(with one exception) that the regular meeting times of the
Board of Aldermen shall be the first Tuesday and third
Tuesday of each month, at 10: 00 o'clock a.m. in the Council
Chamber in the Municipal Auditorium; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen desire to change the date
of the first regular meeting in October, 1973 from October 2nd
to October 8th, at which meeting they shall consider the pro-
posed budget and the proposed appropriations ordinance for the
fiscal year 1973-1974.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2-1
of the Code of Ordinances, the first regular meeting of the
Board of Aldermen in the month of October, 1973 shall be held
on October 8, 1973 at 10: 00 o'clock a.m. in the Council Chamber
in the Municipal Auditorium.
SECTION 2. A public hearing be, and it is hereby, called
for Monday, October 8, 1973 at 10: 00 o' clock a.m. in the Council
Chamber in the Municipal Auditorium building to consider the
adoption of the budget and the appropriations ordinance for the
City of Wichita Falls for the fiscal year beginning October 1,
1973.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is directed to give notice of
the hour, date and place of such public hearing by placing a
notice in at least one newspaper of general circulation in the
city not more than thirty days nor less than ten days before
said public hearing.
SECTION 4. The fact that the budget for the fiscal year
beginning October 1, 1973 needs to be adopted on the date
set forth for such first meeting in October, creates an
emergency, and this ordinance is declared an emergency
measure and shall become effective upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 18TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1973 .
