Resolution authorizing the City of Wichita Falls to seek Designation
as a Management Agency (DMA) from the TCEQ for Wastewater
Collection and Treatment within the City limits, in accordance with
the requirements of Section 208 of the U.S. Clean Water Act
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, Texas (the “City”) has the authority to
design, construct, operate, and maintain wastewater collection and treatment facilities ;
to raise revenues and assess appropriate charges to assure th at each participating
party pays its appropriate share of sewerage system cost; to accept or refuse to accept
any waste from any participating party; to accept and utilize grants or other funds from
any source for wastewater management purposes; and, to ca rry out appropriate
portions of an area wide water quality management plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City of Wichita Falls is hereby authorized to seek Designation as a
Management Agency (DMA) for wastewater collection and treatment within its City
Limits, in accordance with the requirements of Section 208 of the U.S. Clean Water Act
(Federal Water Pollution Control Act), as amended.
