AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS ADJACENT TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LANDS ARE DESCRIBED IN
THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following tracts of land located in Wichita
County, Texas, be and the same are hereby ordered to be annexed and to be
included within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and the
corporate limits be extended so as to include said tracts of land in Wichita
County, Texas, the same being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT I
A tract of land out of the Thomas Toby Survey, A-309, Wichita County, Texas and
being more specifically described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in a fence line along a curve of the West right-of-way line
of Central Freeway (U.S. 277-281) and the East line of the W. L. Krottinger lands,
said point bears South 20° 00' West 2276.8 feet from the Northeast corner of the
said Thomas Toby Survey;
THENCE South 89° 37' West 1593.85 feet to a point in a fence line along the west
line of the W. L. Krottinger lands for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE South 00° 39' East 1150.00 feet along said fence line for the West line
of said Krottinger lands and the East line of the Ray Puckett lands to a fence
corner for the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE North 89° 37' East 1955.26 feet along a fence line for the South line of
said Krottinger lands and the North line of the Marie D. Skinner lands to a fence
corner in the West right-of-way line of Central Freeway for the Southeast corner
of this tract;
THENCE in a Northerly direction along a fence line for the West right-of-way line
of Central Freeway as follows: North 22° 43' West 135.52 feet to a Texas Highway
Department (THD) monument for a point of curvature; along a 0.974 degree curve
to the right with a central angle of 10° 27' 41" and a radius of 5879.58 feet, a
distance of 1073.53 feet to the place of beginning;
SAVE AND EXCEPT A 200 feet wide strip of land on the east side of the above
described tract adjacent to Central Freeway, which strip of land lies within the
existing city limits.
CONTAINING 40.75 acres more or less excluding the said 200 feet wide strip of land.
TRACT II
A tract of land out of the M. Carbajal Survey, A-44, Wichita County, Texas and
being more specifically described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the M. Carbajal Survey, said point bears South 34° 29'
East 5493.59 feet from the Northwest corner of said M. Carbajal Survey, and
said point being also the Northwest corner of Block 5 of the Arrowhead Industrial
District, Unit One as recorded in the Wichita County, Texas Plats Records;
THENCE South 89° 47' East 871.00 feet to the Northeast corner of the said
Block 5;
THENCE South 00° 13' West 750 feet to the Southeast corner of the said Block 5;
THENCE continuing South 00° 13' West 100 feet more or less to a point in the
South boundary line of the M. Carbajal Survey, said point being in the present
city limits line;

THENCE Westerly along the South boundary line of the M. Carbajal Survey, being
also the present city limits line, a distance of 870.8 feet;
THENCE Northerly 100 feet more or less to the Southwest corner of the said
Block 5;
THENCE North 00° 10' East 200 feet along the west boundary line of the said
Block 5 to a point;

THENCE continuing along the West boundary line of said Block 5 North 0,0°. 13,'
East 550.0 feet to the place of beginning and containing 17.0 acres more or less.
TRACT III
Being out of and part of Block 6, Block 7, and Block 8 Cherokee County School
Land A-33, Wichita County, Texas, and being more particularly described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the most Northerly boundary line of a tract of land
annexed in 1960 and described in Ordinance No. 1891, that point also being the
Southeast corner of a tract of land annexed in 1970 and described as Tract IX,
Ordinance No. 2598;
THENCE East along the North right-of-way line of Hatton Road, also along the
present city limits described in Ordinance 1891, to a Northerly projection of
the most Westerly East line of Section A, Loch Lomond Addition;
THENCE Southerly along said present city limits to a point 200 feet South of the
South right-of-way line of Hatton Road;
THENCE East 200 feet South of and parallel to the South right-of-way line of
Hatton Road to the E. B. L. of Block 7 of the Kemp and Newby Subdivision of
Cherokee County School Lands;
THENCE North along the E.B.L. of Blocks 7, 6, and 8 of said Cherokee County
School lands to a point in the present city limits, said point being 200 feet
Easterly from the East right-of-way line of South Freeway (Expressway 281) measured
at right angles thereto;
THENCE Southwesterly along the present city limits, ,a line parallel to and 200
feet East of the East right-of-way line of said South Freeway to the place of
beginning and containing 161.00 acres, more or less.
TRACT IV
BEGINNING at a point in the present city limits line in the west line of the Lewis
Wells Survey, A-323, said point being 172 feet west of the northwest corner of
the Expressway Village subdivision, Section 3, Wichita County, Texas;
THENCE east 2300 feet more or less to a point in the present city limits line,
said point being 300 feet west of the west right-of-way line of the Burkburnett
Road (State Highway 240) ;
THENCE along the present city limits line as follows: south parallel to and
300 feet west of the west right-of-way line of State Highway 240 to a point 200
feet north of the north right-of-way line of Missile Road; westerly 200 feet
north of, and parallel to, the north right-of-way line of Missile Road to the east
line of Section 39 of the H & GN Survey, A-161, being also the west line of the
said Lewis Wells Survey; north along the west, line of the said Lewis Wells Survey
a distance of 530 feet more or less to the place of beginning.
CONTAINING 40 acres more or less.

SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 6 of Article 970a of the
Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, before these annexation proceedings were insti-
tuted, the Board of Aldermen called a public hearing on October 16, 1973 to
provide an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard; notice of such
hearing was published once in the Wichita Falls Record News not more than twenty
(20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the public hearing. Such public
hearing was held on November 6, 1973, which was not more than twenty (20) days
nor less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of these annexation proceedings.
SECTION 3. In conformity with Section 3-A of the amended Charter of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the 20th day of November,
1973 introduced and the City Clerk is directed to publish said ordinance one (1)
time in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas-, and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon.
SECTION 4. The fact that this is an urbanizing area, and City safety,
health and police controls and measures will be needed, creates an emergency,
and it is hereby declared that this ordinance is an emergency measure on the
grounds of public need for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of
property of the city, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage.
This ordinance having been introduced on the 20th day of November, 1973
and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas, to wit, the Wichita Falls Record News, one (1) time, on the
