AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE
NO. 1631, AS AMENDED, INCREASING THE RATE OF
FARE TO BE CHARGED BY TAXICABS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section IV of Ordinance No. 1631, as amended,
is hereby amended so that it shall read as follows:
"SECTION IV: RATES. Beginning the 1st day of March, 1974,
the following schedule of rates and fares shall become effec-
tive and shall supersede the schedule of rates and fares here-
tofore provided for, and such rates or fares are as follows:
(1) The rate of fare for one person shall be $. 60 for
the first one-fifth mile or fraction thereof traveled by him,
and $ .10 for each additional one-fifth mile or fraction thereof
traveled by him; for each additional passenger transported on
the same trip, the charge shall be $. 30, provided all passen-
gers are in the same party.
(2) For each one minute of waiting time during each trip,
the rate shall be $. 10.
(3) Trunks: $ .25 for each trunk carried.
(4) Handbaggage shall be carried at no charge to the
passenger. "
SECTION 2. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency
measure, and it shall become effective on March 1, 1974.
