ORDINANCE NO. W/
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 29-91 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, ESTABLISHING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS
IN CERTAIN ZONES, AND DECLARING AN EMER-
GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 29-91 of the Code of Ordinances is
hereby amended by adding a new paragraph (AM) , which shall
read as follows:
" (AM) Road system at Lake Arrowhead
(1) 35 MPH On all roads owned by the
City of Wichita Falls at
Lake Arrowhead. "
SECTION 2. As the 35 MPH speed limit herein established
encompasses the entire Lake Arrowhead road system owned by the
City, it shall be unnecessary in any complaint alleging a viola-
tion of this Ordinance, that the complaint state the exact point
on the road system where the alleged violation occurred.
SECTION 3. The fact that many people are now travelling
on the road system at Lake Arrowhead, and a number of traffic
accidents have occurred, creates an urgent need for protection
of the citizens on this road system, and this Ordinance is de-
clared an emergency measure for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety, and it shall become effective imme-
diately upon its passage.
