Ord 2903 9/3/1974 ORDINANCE NO. p0-o3 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING ALL ALLEYS IN THE NOBLE & HENDERSON'S RESURVEY OF BLOCK 259, ORIGINAL TOWNSITE AND RESERVING UTILITY EASEMENTS. WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems it advisable and in the public interest to close all alleys in Noble & Henderson's Resurvey of Block 259 of the Original Townsite. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. All alleys in Noble & Henderson's Resurvey of Block 259 of the Original Townsite be and the same are hereby closed and abandoned. SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls, Texas hereby reserves easements in all alleys, except in that portion of the twenty foot east-west alley from the east line of the north-south alley to Holliday Street, for the purpose of laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines including water, gas, electric, telephone and power lines, and sanitary sewers. • SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to convey the north half of the east-west alley between Brook Street and the north-south alley to the Wichita General Hospital in exchange for the conveyance of the west half of the north-south alley between Seventh Street and the east-west alley to the City of Wichita Falls by the Wichita General Hospital. SECTION 4. The fact that the construction of a parking lot for the Wichita General Hospital and the police station is being delayed pending the taking effect of this ordinance creates an urgent public necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed as an emergency measure, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
