RESOLUTION NO. 'S}
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR
GRANT FROM TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR
DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING PROGRAM FOR CHILDCARE, INC.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2321 was approved on the 3rd day of April, 1979;
and,
WHEREAS, an adjustment in the total amount of the grant has been made
to include all administrative and auditing costs incurred by the City of
Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, Childcare, Inc. , is a private, non-profit corporation whose
purpose is to provide developmental day care for children from three months to
five years of age, and it currently serves 180 children; and,
WHEREAS, there is a need to set up an in-service training program for
the staff of Childcare, Inc. , and there is a lack of community resources to
fund such a project; and,
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $16,420 is available from the Texas
Department of Community Affairs, which will provide a consultant's salary and
materials for an in-house training program for Childcare, Inc. 's care-giving
employees, which will be adopted and used on a continuing basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to submit an applica-
tion for such a grant in the amount of $16,420 with the Texas Department of
Community Affairs; he is further authorized to sign any necessary documents,
including the grant contract, which may be required to obtain such grant.
