DESIGNATING WICHITA FALLS COMMUNITY MENTAL
HEALTH-MENTAL RETARDATION CENTER AS COOR-
DINATING AGENCY FOR DISASTER PSYCHOLOGICAL
PLANNING AND PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
WHEREAS, due to the numerous community agencies identifying an interest
in the emotional and psychological needs of the community following the tornado; and,
WHEREAS, due to the limited availability of manpower in the mental health
area; and,
WHEREAS, due to the variety of need and agency programming; and,
WHEREAS, due to the need for a coordinated approach to the psychological
needs of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Community Mental Health-Mental Retardation
Center is a City/County agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Board of Aldermen requests the Board of Trustees of the Wichita Falls
Community Mental Health Mental Retardation Center to invite community agencies to
participate in voluntary collaboration to develop a plan, with the Center acting as a
coordinating agency; and,
That such plan be submitted through the Federal Disaster Assistance Agency
to the National Institute of Mental Health as an application for funds to execute the
plan in behalf of identified needs of the community. The purpose of the action is for
coordinating purposes only and does not carry with it any fiscal note.
