ORDINANCE NO. 2922
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SALE OF BEER AT SIKES
SENTER ON THE DAY BEFORE THE PIONEER BOWL
FOOTBALL GAME.
WHEREAS, each year the Board of Commerce and Industry
sponsors the Pioneer Bowl football game in the City, and this
event brings national recognition to Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, during the week preceding the game, a number
of events are held which promote interest in the game; one of
these events is the annual chili cook-off, which will be held
before the game at Sikes Senter; and,
WHEREAS, the success of this chili cook-off will be
enhanced if the sale of beer is allowed, and the Board of Alder-
men finds that it will be in the public interest if such sale
is allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Notwithstanding the other provisions contained in
Ordinance No. 2491, it shall be lawful for the Board of Commerce
and Industry and their concessionaire to obtain a Temporary
License under the Texas Liquor Control Act, which shall auth-
orize the holder thereof to sell beer only for consumption on
the premises constituting Sikes Senter only, in or from any
lawful container to the ultimate consumer, which Temporary
License shall be good only the day before the annual Pioneer
Bowl football game each year.
