RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR GRANT FROM TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A MERIT SALARY PLAN.
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to develop and implement a merit
salary plan for use by all departments within the City, which would include
an employee appraisal system; and,
WHEREAS, grant funds are available under Intergovernmental Personnel
Act for such a project; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost of such project will be $5,108.00 and the City's
share of this cost will be one-half thereof, or $2,554.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit to the Texas Department
of Community Affairs an application for a grant in the amount of $2,554.00
under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act for the purpose of a six-month
project to develop and implement such merit salary plan; the prior submittal
of such a grant application is hereby ratified and approved. The City Manager
is further authorized to execute any instruments required to complete this
grant application, and he is authorized to execute the grant agreement.
