ORDINANCE NO. f C/y
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF LELA LANE IN
THE J. L. POWELL ESTATE SUBDIVISION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems
it advisable and in the public interest to close that portion of Lela Lane herein
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That portion of Lela Lane which is described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the east boundary line of Block 7U of the J. L.
Powell Estate Subdivision, according to Plat and Certificate of Record
in Volume 103, page 227 of Deed Records of Wichita County, Texas, said
point being sixty feet south of the northeast corner thereof;
THENCE west 60 feet;
THENCE south 20 feet;
THENCE east 60 feet;
THENCE north 20 feet to the place of beginning.
be and is hereby closed and abandoned.
SECTION 2. That the presence of this portion of the dead-end street is
delaying the development and sale of property within a proposed subdivision creates
an urgent public necessity, requiring that this ordinance be passed as an emergency
measure, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure and shall be in force
and effect immediately from and after its passage.
