ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 24-21 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES, INCREASING NUMBER OF
POSITIONS IN CLASSIFICATION POLICE OFFICER
BY THREE, AND ABOLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION
POLICEWOMAN.
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen consider it advisable
and proper that the three policewomen, Kay Peterson, Billie
Kate Collier and Betty Carver, be transferred from the Civil
Service classification Policewoman to the Civil Service
classification Police Officer; and,
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this, it is necessary
to increase the number of positions in the classification
Police Officer by three, and to abolish the classification
Policewoman; and,
WHEREAS, on February 18th, 1975 an order was entered
in CA7-736 in the United States District Court for the North-
ern District of Texas authorizing this action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I. Section 24-21 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby amended by increasing
the number of positions in the classification Police Officer
from 85 to 88 , and by abolishing the classification Police-
woman.
SECTION 2. Kay Peterson, Billie Kate Collier and Betty
Carver shall be transferred to the Civil Service classifi-
cation of Police Officer.
