AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE MRO GROUP TO
CONSTRUCT A ROOF OVERHANG INTO THE PUBLIC ALLEY IN
BLOCK 246 OF ORIGINAL TOWNSITE, CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the MRO Group is in the process of constructing office
facilities on Lot 1 of Block 246, of the Original Townsite of the City of Wichita
Falls , and desires to construct a roof overhang into the public alleyway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS , THAT:
SECTION 1 . The MRO Group is hereby granted the right and authority
to construct a roof overhang extending two feet into the alley in Lot 1 of Block
246, Original Townsite of the City of Wichita Falls . Such overhang shall be con-
structed in the manner and location shown in a drawing dated February 28, 1975, a
copy of which is attached hereto. The bottom of said overhang shall be at least
eight feet above ground level .
SECTION 2. Said company shall coordinate such project with all utili-
ty companies whose facilities are located in such alleyway.
SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of said company at all times to main-
tain said overhang at its own expense. If at any time in the future some public
use of such right-of-way makes it necessary that the said overhang be relocated or
removed, such relocation or removal shall be done at the sole cost and expense of
such company.
SECTION 4. Whenever any work is being done on the construction or
maintenance of said overhang, the MRO Group shall take all necessary and proper
precautions to protect the public from damage, and said company shall hold and
save the City of Wichita Falls harmless from all damages or claims from damages,
resulting from the construction, maintenance and operation of said overhang.
SECTION 5. The right and authority hereby granted is for so long as
said overhang is used and maintained by the MRO Group.

Dear Ernest ,
It was a pleasure to speak to you today concerning
a renovation project our company is undertaking.
As we discussed, our company has purchased the building
and land known as 1407-1409 7th Street.
It is our plan to totally renovate this present
building and change its appearance inside and out.
The building design calls for a roof facade to go
completely around the building overhangin' approximately
two feet on all sides. Since the west side of the
building is now on the property line adjoining the
city alley, we are requesting permis-pion to use the
air space above the alley for this two foot projection.
The alley is a 25 foot alley paved only in the center
area. The proposed projection would remain well within
line of utility poles and would pose no hazard in
our opinion.
We would like to take the steps necessary to be
allowed to construct this roof overhang. A cony of
sketches will be provided for you. Please let; me know
what other steps we need to take.
