Ord 2998 8/5/1975 ORDINANCE NO. o 9g, AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 29-133.1 TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR LOADING ZONES FOR VEHICLES FOR THE PICK UP OR DE- LIVERY OF FREIGHT OR MERCHANDISE; PROVIDING A MAXIMUM TIME LIMIT OF THIRTY (30) MINUTES FOR PARK- ING IN SUCH VEHICLE LOADING ZONES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. There is hereby added to Chapter 29 of the Code of Ordinances of Wichita Falls, Texas, a Section 29-133.1 to read as follows: "Sec. 29-133.1. Standing in vehicle Loading Zone. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle for any purpose or length of time other than for the expenditious unloading and delivery or pick up and loading of materials in any place marked as a loading zone during hours when the provisions applicable to such zones are in effect. The City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized to determine and establish by posting the time limits for stopping, standing, or parking a vehicle for the purposes herein specified in a vehicle loading zone. In no case shall the stop for loading and unloading of materials exceed thirty (30) minutes. " SECTION 2. Because of the urgent need for the expeditious loading and unloading of freight and merchandise in the City of Wichita Falls, especially in the downtown commercial district, and in order to promote the safety and protect the welfare of the citizens this ordinance is declared an emergency and shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
